Blended Learning Syllabus
WELCOME TO OUR CLASSROOMS!!!
Introduction: Welcome to class! This year at NMS, we are pleased to incorporate a variety of technology both inside and outside the classroom. These tools are excellent to help students study, learn new vocabulary, complete and submit daily assignments, and provide extension opportunities. The use of these tools is a privilege.
Goals: There are specific educational goals that we, will strive to achieve through the incorporation of technology:
Student Responsibilities: Students will be responsible to treat all school property with respect. Devices are to be used as learning tools, not toys. Students will complete assignments in a timely fashion and will openly communicate in advance with home and school if there are barriers to technology in order to complete the assignment.
Home Responsibilities: Provide a quiet and supportive environment to do homework. Direct any questions, needs, or concerns regarding the use of technology inside and out of class to the classroom teacher via email. Encourage your child to study regularly (using technology if possible or the old fashioned way) because practice makes better!
Technology Wish list: Earbuds / headphones (if possible with inline microphone) are highly recommended for class to view educational videos and online listening and speaking activities in the target language. Basic earbuds are available at the Dollar Store. A mouse, although not necessary, at times provides greater agility when navigating the computer. Any donations of earbuds and Clorox wipes are greatly appreciated.
